Object Desc Letter and envelope stamped 'on her majesty's service' handwritten with 'Earl of Crawford Matter'. The letter is undated from a 'nabob' regarding the theft of the body of the Earl of Crawford's body in Dunecht, 1881. Its a copy. letter is L2021.01.101.01

Notes The letter is in good condition. There is some discolouration and dirt to the rear of the letter. There are two creases from being folded.There is also a small blue/purple pencil mark in the top right hand corner of the letter. The envelope is dirty and discoloured (more severly than the letter) and has some tears. The main tear is down the left side originating from the envelope opening. There are signs of foxing and spotting on the front and rear (and inside) of the envelope.
